Looking for a quick answer to a download question?
To make it easy to understand how our music downloads work, we have answers to the most frequently asked questions here.
- 1. What as a music download?
- It is a file that you download & save to your PC.
- 2. What format do you provide?
- We provide .mp3 files.
- 3. What rights do I have the music I download?
You are allowed to:
- Forward the music to yourself or others within your household.
- Transfer the music to a portable player belonging to yourself or others within your household.
- Copy the music to a CD and listen to it at a privately held party.
- Copy the music to a CD and listen to it at work, your school and so forth.

You are not allowed:

- Transfer the music to a portable player belonging to people who are not a part of your household.
- Giveaway copies of the music you have bought e.g. on a CD
- Lend, trade or sell the music you have bought.
- 4. Is my portable music player compatible?
- Every mp3 compatible player can playback the files.
- 5. How long does it take to download a track?
- Each track is roughly about 5 Mbytes. To download a track over a 1M broadband connection will take about 1-2 minutes. On a 56k dial-up connection it will take roughly 30 minutes.
- 6. Where will tracks be saved to on my PC?
- Like saving any other file, you're prompted to specify where you want to save the files. In Windows XP, we suggest your 'My Music' folder, which is in 'My Documents'. If you're not running Windows XP or don't have a 'My Music' folder, you can create a new folder.
If you have downloaded files and you can't find them, you can go into Windows Media Player and hit then click 'search'. When searching for music on your PC, all files will have a .WMA file extension.
- 7. Should I keep my download receipt emails?
- Yes. You'll need your 'Email adress' to REDOWNLOAD tracks and 'Order number', 'Transaction number' and date for future reference.
- 8. What happens if I lose my internet connection part way through downloading, or my PC crashes, or I change my PC or hard drive?
- You can re-download tracks that you have previously bought up to a pre-defined number of times (set by the record label). Click on the REDOWNLOAD link. You'll need your transaction details from your receipt email. If you are a registered user and you are logged on, you will see a list of all of the tracks that you have purchased while registered, and will have the option to re-download them.
- 9. If I still have a problem what should I do?
- If you've checked through these FAQs and How to Use this site guide, then please send an email to support@shop2download.com - state your 'Order number' & 'Transaction number' from your receipt email and explain the problem that you are having.
